Payne 96 Fly Rod 6'6" 2/2 #3/4A superb Payne model 96 fly rod, 6'6", 2 piece, 2 tips. A sweet medium action for a #3 or #4 line. Very good refinished condition and it does not appear to have been fished much as there is no cracking at the ferrule wraps. The varnish is very well done. The wraps are brown with yellow edges and an extra band of purple at the keeper and the male ferrules. The #10 ferrule retains all of its oxidation. The guides are high arch snakes and an agate

The cigar grip is 6 3/4" in length with a thumb and palm indentation

Western-style grip 6 1/4" in length with moderate soiling

one creating a 7' rod and the other a 7'3" hence the name "Pace Changer"

The reel foot is stamped with a 2 on one pillar foot and 1 on the other pillar foot

All black anodized and comes in the original Abel pouch

Includes a replacement bag with stiffening dowel and the original tube with brass fittings
