Abel Super 12 Fly ReelA nice Abel Super 12 fly reel, Serial #6864. LHW. 4 1 2" diameter, with a 1 7 64" spool diameter and 1 3 4" overall width. Backing but no line mounted. 2 minor scratches are the only sign of use so I'd call it 98% new. The owner's name is engraved on the back of the reel. All black anodizing. 12. 3 oz on my scale. Comes with the original Abel pouch.

Perhaps this goes back to the day where Dingley worked closely with the PD Malloch shop
Leonard Rod Co observed the Walker machinists using Schaublin 102 Swiss lathes to manufacture their reels and determined that the Leonard shop needed one to use in making ferrules
