Saracione Monarch Fly Reel M40/D LHWAn early Saracione Monarch fly reel, one of Joe's earliest reel offerings. 4" in diameter, with a 1" spool width. LHW. Brushed aluminum frame with black writing "Monarch" and the model size etched into the crankside plate. Serial #0314 etched on the foot. Black drag adjuster and handle. Used but excellent condition overall with a few minor marks on the rim and to the inside of the spool. Full range drag adjustment knob. Very smoothly operating cork
Line capacity - DT3 or WF4 with no backing
An excellent Darryl Whitehead fly rod
Obviously it's seen its share of rocks
Half of the book is dedicated to taking steelhead via the greased line method while the balance relates to the author's favorite steelhead
