F. Base embossed Whitall Tatum Co. Oleatum Aconitinae was an official preparation of aconitine in oil listed in the National Formulary (N. F.) in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It was used as a topical analgesic and counterirritant but contained aconitine, a highly toxic alkaloid derived from monkshood (Aconitum).
