Beech Hedge: Edinburgh - photogravure print - The Weekly EditionThis Beech Hedge grows in the Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh Scotland. I was moved by this living thing, over 100 years old and 23 feet tall it has the ability to stop time and make one consider how we interact with the natural world. This hand pulled photogravure print is made with Charbonnel carbon black, Noir 55981, and warm sepia ink, with a dash of Charbonnel sanguine ink on Hahnemhle creme German Etching paper. I printed an edition of 8

and an edition of 9 numbered prints and 3 A/P prints

The paper is 11x14 inches and the image is approximately 7x9 inches

and Burnt Umber inks on Hahnemühle copperplate paper

At the time I made a platinum print of this negative that was later collected by The Portland Art Museum as part of the permeant collection

Hand-pulled photogravure print is made with Charbonnel  Bleu de Prusse

and in my opinion felt

and I am reminded of how vast the landscape is to this small being

This hand-pulled polymer photogravure print is made with Gamblin stiff Portland black and sepia ink
