Lot 040 - Antique Convex Porcelain Sign “Entrée” (French, "Entrance") With Black Letters On White Field And Black Pinstripe Border, Attributed To Édouard Busath, Brussels, Belgium, 5-1/2" x 2-3/4"Antique convex porcelain sign reading Entre, meaning Entrance in French, featuring bold black lettering on a white field bordered by a single black pinstripe. Though unmarked, the design and construction are consistent with the signed work in this week's auction by douard Busath of Brussels, Belgium, active 18981913, one of Belgiums earliest and most prominent producers of enamel advertising signs. The sign includes left and right mounting holes.
