Hardy Perfect Spitfire Special Edition Fly Reel 2 7/8"An excellent Hardy Spitfire Perfect 2 7 8" Special Edition Trout Fly Reel. Limited edition numbered reel of only 250 in this size. Right hand retrieve. The reel has a grey agate line guard which is unblemished. The reel is in near mint condition (most would call it mint) with the most minor handling marks. Comes in a cloth bag with a Hardy logo on it.
They are anodized in silver with a handsome Bogdan signature and number on the winding plate

The frame diameter is 4 3/4" with a spool diameter of 4 1/2" and spool width of ~ 1"
A San Francisco era rod
The cigar grip is 6 1/8" in length with moderate and very light ridging in places
The reel is in excellent + condition showing very few marks on the frame/rims
this is the fly that he may be best known for
This is common with Howells rods
A few of the screws show slight use
The plastic covering from the restoration remains on the grip
