Orvis Battenkill 6' Bamboo Rod - early 1940s!For sale here is a very rare Orvis 6' Battenkill bamboo rod from late 1942 (Wes Jordan era). Serial #0460. Two sections with two tips. There's been quite a bit of speculation that Pinky Gillum, who worked at Orvis for a couple of years in the early 40s, may have been involved with the production of this rod. George Halstead was also at Orvis during this time frame. Overall the rod is in excellent + and original condition. The rod weighs 2 3 8 oz. Size
The rod features a unique and distinctive reel seat milled from 6061 anodized aluminum
Nickel silver cap and ring reel seat over a beautifully figured wood spacer
