19th century Early Victorian Mahogany columned library book caseThis is a lovely quality and elegant 19th century early Victorian mahogany library book case. The columned design with the brass details is very smart and will work well in a huge number of interiors. The single shelf and large spaces offer plenty of room for books or trinkets. The condition overall in very clean with no major issues. The size is neat also. The top for me and the figuring in the columns are particularly nice. Height 81. 5cm Width 88cm

There is an element of collage with this as well as the fish has been stuck over one another

Whats interesting about this carving is it actually has carved details on its back which would suggest it could be seem from all angles

The design is beautiful with the thin ebonised show wood outer frame

The strung detail and vertical use of the timber along the top is a stunning detail that adds a lot to the piece

The figuring to the timber makes this a particularly good example as there is an almost satin wood appearance to it

This is a very high quality early 20th century in the manner of Howard and sons

This is a very stylish 19th century Spanish walnut console table

The colours of the flowers are fabulous and the details show a real quality to the artistry

But the main feature of the single plank oak top

Unfortunately my research hasn't discovered much about this but it is unusual as the head seems to have handles carved into it that may suggest rope was fed through but for what purpose I don't know
