Paul Young 15 Ferrule Bamboo Rod 8'6"For sale here is a very special bamboo rod made in 1949 by Paul H. Young for his son, Paul A. Young Jr. The rod is 8 1 2" in length and was made with a size 15 64 ferrule and 5 64 tip tops. The rod remains in excellent+ condition. All sections are full length, straight and without repair. A letter of provenance will be included from Bob Summers. The rod features moderately flamed tempered cane with jet back wraps. The script on each sections reads:

Aluminum tube with Mike's label sticker

Tan poplin bag and polished aluminum brass topped tube

The thin forgiving tips along with the authoritative swelled butt give this rod a lovely balance of strength and finesse

3 Up node pattern construction built from dark impregnated cane

Uplocking screw lock with a hidden pocket cap under the heel of the grip

Spiral signature wrap midway between the grip and stripping guide

Brushed aluminum tube with brass top and nice stamp

Comes in poplin bag with hang tag and aluminum rod tube with brass cap top and bottom

The kit is housed in a white box similar to a fly box 5

No tube but this rod comes in a neat green twill heavy bag sporting a V-shaped snap flap with a zipper to close the bag

The owner's name is scratched into the bottom of the reel foot
