Onion 'Red Baron'Red Baron onion sets are flattish round bulbs for planting in spring. They produce a reliable crop of flavoursome red onions ready to harvest in summer. These allium bulbs are essentially baby onions and are much quicker and easier to grow than onions from seeds. Prepare the ground in advance, adding plenty of organic matter for extra nutrients. Choose a sunny spot with well draining soil and plant the sets 15cm apart, leaving 30cm between rows.
