I especially like the intensity and focus of the flavors and this is a picture perfect example of power without weight

This is an imposing but graceful wine that is presently exceptionally firm and like the Grands Echézeaux

laced with citrus

and honeysuckle

tension and good length

There is once again an appealing sense of energy to the lighter weight flavors that deliver solid punch and persistence on the balanced finish

sandalwood and highly spiced aromas that display the initial whispers of sous-bois

graphite and floral notes are followed by a wine of great depth

The Méo style of emphasizing a blend of power and finesse works extremely well in a vintage like 1990 and this is wonderfully expressive with its seductive blend of secondary fruit

Either way

This velvety but relatively powerful wine exhibits good delineation for the vintage as well as moderate austerity which is also relatively rare in this opulent year

Here the wood treatment is equally subtle on the restrained nose that displays fresh and cool aromas of red currant
