This rod came to me from a mutual friend of both Tom Maxwell and mine who originally bought it from Maxwell in the early 1990's
This fly was originated by George Bonbright in 1925
Serial number 3-271
this set number being #2
In 2016 Bob Summers replaced the grip and also gave it a light varnish touch up
with pouch and backing or reel
The reel appears unused but there are what appear to be water marks on the handle side of the reel (see last photo)
birdseye maple cap-and-ring seat oxidized jet black
All sections are of equal length
The reel continues to enjoy quite the cult following 20+ years after being introduced
Ferrule size 14/64 and 21/64
Slide band reel seat with oxidized rear cork check and cap and ring
