Hardy Perfect 3 3/8" fly reel with spare spoolFor sale here is a 3 3 8" Hardy Perfect and spare spool. Straight line lettering on winding plate. Surface wear only but no chips, dings, or cracks. MKII check both pawls engageable. Fine mechanical condition no issues. Agate line guide has one hairline crack. Original and full length ribbed brass foot. Gear teeth and pawls still very sharp. Handle spins freely. Tensioner works great and the springs are still very strong.
This particular reel is one that he manufactured to show up and coming reel builders how to do the process
Originally sold to Herb Welch in 1948
resulting in a gorgeous piece of Zwarg's early reel-making history
This rod has seen use: there is some oxidation brassing on the ferrules and cap and ring
The Swiss-style truncated ferrules are size 13/64 and 9/64 with a great fit
