Hardy Golden Featherweight Fly ReelFor sale here is a Hardy Golden Classic Featherweight. This is a first edition reel, Serial No. 030. 2 7 8" diameter. Original zippered case, box, and papers included. The reel remains in near mint condition simply from what appears to be some natural tarnish to the brass reel foot and the rim tension regulator. The reel shows no signs of use. Can be fished LHW or RHW. Reversible single screw line guard. See here for Serial No. 030 of the Hardy Golden
The reel is set up for right hand retrieve but can be switched to left by the buyer
No other cracks exist
A very nice rod
but otherwise the reel is a very nice example
Rod comes with original bag and tube
This "1955" marking was subsequently removed by Jim to preserve the rod's originality
The reel and spool are both in mint condition
and spool are all in excellent shape
Fully customized handmade leather tube
The Swiss-style ferrules are size 8/64 and 13/64 with a perfect fit
with a coin-edge knurl and rear cork check
so it's been a one-family rod up to this point
