Easily switched by flipping over main gear around drive shaft. Is currently set up for left hand wind. This would make a great all around reel for a 5 wt. application. Reel was made for Orvis by Lamson. Reel weighs 6. 55 oz. Diameter: 3 1 8" Width: 1 1 2". Reel comes with original Orvis reel

although it could still be used

as well as a spiral cut oil cap

The action is just slightly on the faster side of medium-fast and quite smooth

Also incorporated into the backplate is a flip-out compartment which is intended to house your favorite dry fly floatant grease
