Historically, there were a few different materials used for these shirts. One was a twill gabardine, usually dyed in bright colors but these got very hot. An alternative was rayon, which was a fake silk, or silk substitute. Silk was pretty expensive for a shirt to be worn

and just enough fringe to turn heads

but don't worry - we have you covered with some belt loops as well
