Horton "Meek 55" Fly Reel - Abercrombie & FitchFor sale here is a very scarce Meek 55 fly reel made by the Horton Manufacturing Company in Bristol, Connecticut. These reels appeared in the Abercrombie & Fitch catalogs and this one includes an A&F stamp on the back of the frame. Serial number 2061 on the foot. Nickel silver spool latch with spiral knurling. Very good condition overall. Designed for right hand retrieve. The diameter of the reel is 3 1 8" with a spool width of 5 8". The reel foot is

The rod features mildly tempered cane with 3 x 3 node spacing

indicating that this rod may have not even been lawn cast

The tips are also lettered "86/200"

An excellent example of this Miramichi classic pattern

Nice Wheatley brushed aluminum salmon/steelhead box with 40 clips

There are no cracks in the frame but there are a few edge chips as shown in the photos

Slight wear to the bluing on the tip-tops
