RL Winston Fly Rod 7' 2/2 #3

RL Winston Fly Rod 7' 2/2 #3A nice RL Winston fly rod, 7', 2 piece, 2 tip, built for a #3 line. Serial #3780, a rod from the latter part of the Brackett era at Winston. Listed as 2 1 2 ounces but clocks in at 3. 2 ounces on my scale. Medium full flexing action. I cannot find any evidence of this rod having been used. Absolutely mint and it is straight as a pin. Superb varnish finish with a three up node pattern construction and wheat straw color cane. The wraps are tan with

A great all-around rod

Decent overall condition with some normal wear on the frame and more moderate wear on the foot and around the nut that holds the crank handle on

Ferrules are oxidized and utilize the Maxwell-Marinaro style

It doesn't get better than this in terms of pairing a reel with you favorite small stream rod

The grip is Western style (note: there is a chip out of the cork missing at the heel of the grip)
