Taken altogether I suspect this rod may have been put together from odds and ends and leftovers lying around the Payne shop

The tips are numbered one and two along with the serial number for convenience

The cap and ring seat is varnished Spanish Cedar

One Bogdan authority we spoke to about this reel has suggested that it may have begun as a 300M (which would have had a 1 5/8" spool width) but was later given a narrower frame
