The stones are carved to resemble scarab beetles. The back of the stones is open so you can partially see the carved stones from the bottom. The stones I believe are tigers eye (brown stone), carnelian (red stone), chalcedony (blue and green stones) and unakite (green pink stone). Scarab jewelry is said to represent good luck, rebirth and regeneration. The stones used in the brooch also
