The rod features handsome dark mottle flamed cane with exquisitely wrapped transparent, caramel brown silks matching the color of the cane. The script remains clean and bold and along with the rod information, the original owner's name is on one flat. Garrison style hook keeper. Large cigar style grip 6 1 2"

The side plates and rings are made of anodized aluminum

Down-locking nickel silver reel seat over a beautifully figured mortised wood spacer

This reel comes with a great Arnie Mason fleece-lined leather case marked on top with the letters "RPC"

Though the rod is labeled for a 7-8 weight line I think the sweet spot is a WF7

All components are made from aircraft quality 6061-T6 Aluminum Alloy and are anodized with a beautiful corrosion resistant finish while all other components are polished stainless steel

There is some very minor cracking in the varnish on some of the wraps near the ferrules (we call these casting cracks and love seeing them on the original Payne rods that have been used with care)
