OBJECTIVE: The workshop aims to enhance institutional capacity for micro-credential development by increasing awareness of the EU best practices and national practices for fostering collaboration among key stakeholders. It seeks to support the development of strategic documents and policy guidelines while strengthening partnerships between universities, industry, and government bodies.
- Introducing the EU best practices policies, strategies, and successful models for micro-credential provision in European institutions
- Discuss the current state of micro-credential programs in Mongolia, identifying challenges and opportunities.
- Engage academia, policymakers, and industry representatives in discussing integrating micro-credentials into higher education and workforce development.
- Encourage dialogue on regulatory frameworks, accreditation, and quality assurance mechanisms for micro-credentials.
EXPECTED OUTCOME:
- Participants will gain insights into EU best practices for micro-credential programs, including policies, strategies, and implementation models, and a clearer understanding of micro-credentials’ role in lifelong learning and workforce development.
- Identification of gaps, challenges, and opportunities in the current micro-credential landscape in Mongolia and a roadmap for integrating micro-credentials into higher education and professional training.
- Strengthening partnerships between universities, industry, and government bodies
- Round tables to develop the project strategic documents, including a draft of the Terms of Reference (ToRs) for revising and developing micro-credential ecosystems.
