In this workshop

Ever wanted to make prints like the old masters—without the old-school toxins

pattern and value

though we will work with acrylic paint for the class

we spend ample time learning what marks each tool makes

We will also discuss ways that embroidery can enhance a print’s composition and narrative power

but some familiarity with printmaking is helpful

We will explore printing in multiple layers and the use of color to achieve richer tonalities in the print

Students should have taken Remarque’s Introduction to Letterpress class or have comparable experience
