2014 Barossa Valley ShirazSituated on the banks of the Greenock Creek, is our 7 Ha vineyard. Shiraz for this wine was sourced from 3 different parcels within the property each adding an individual characteristic to this complex blend. Planted in the mid 90s this Shiraz thrives on the red clay loam soil over a limestone base that makes this one of the great sub regions of the Barossa Valley.
Winemaking
Bottled in June 2022 after 14 months maturation
this vineyard was planted in 1970 on a red clay loam overlaying limestone
with fruit direct tipped into open-top fermenters

Planted in 1982 to the BVRC30 clone this Shiraz thrives on a silty sandy loam over red ironstone clay with schist at depth
the wine was basket-pressed before overnight settling and racking to seasoned French oak
Palate – Soft even tannin

The wine spent a total of 6 weeks on skins before it was basket-pressed
embodying the Barossa’s unique interplay of climate
