Maple neckthrough construction with an alder body and what the catalog lists as a "striped ebony" fingerboard

the Ibanez 540S Saber was  the predecessor of the famous S series and is known for it's slim

The thick clear coat has some checking in the finish and there's some light binding crumble along with some binding lift near the neck joint

Loaded with the original U stamped ST Vintage MKII alnico single coils along with Tokai stamped saddles and the original CBS style tuners

Made in Japan in around 1984 (based on the CTS pot codes and the overall specs/style of the guitar and stamps)

Loaded with a Fernandes branded licensed Floyd locking tremolo system along with the famous Sustainer Lite system (with an on/off toggle and a mode select switch)

HSS pickup configuration on a basswood body with a maple neck and 22 fret rosewood fingerboard
