Niki Hills Hatsuyuki 2022Niki Hills has been producing their flagship wine, using 100% Kerner, since their first vintage in 2015. The crisp acidity is characteristic of Hokkaido wines which is further heightened by Kerner's aromatic (Apple, Pear, Apricot) fragrance. The wine is fermented for 3 weeks, this is the secret to Hatsuyuki's deeper and more complex expression of Kerner. Variety 100% Kerner Alcohol 13% abv
and as it opens
2% of Zweigeltrebe comes from Konishi Farm
resulting in a wine with a 50% new oak ratio
They are then fermented anaerobically in stainless steel tanks
904 bottles produced
the wines are extremely delicate and is best drunken slowly to taste it's development
This label was drawn by Matsumura-san's friend's Daughter
and a small amount of Zweigelt provided pleasant fruitiness and a good astringent accent
Variety - 80% Chardonnay
Number of bottles produced: Approximately 630
This red wine is made by adding Merlot grown in Iga City
The proportion of new barrels was about 20%
