1954 Herman Miller Eames Wire Shell Chair X Base DKX-1 All Original Redwood Avenue LabelListed for sale is a super rare and original Eames for Herman Miller 1954 DKX chair with wire top, upholstered pad, and early X base. This piece can be dated due to the use of this base typology, as the X base was only used during the earlier production. The X base was replaced with a more commonly used H base in 1955. The example for sale has a lovely patina with some wear and signs of use. It is a completely original example, which is untouched.
