C. 1946 Rare Ralph Rapson for Knoll Associates Dining / Side Arm Chair in BirchListed for sale is an exceptional early Knoll Associates armchair, designed by Jens Risom. This example has what looks to be a natural maple frame and lovely striped black fabric. The chair notably retains its original Knoll Associates label, which dates to the mid to late 1940s, when Knoll had its showroom at 601 Madison Avenue in New York City. The chair is in very good to excellent vintage condition with some wear and patina as noted in the photos.

This set is special for a number of reasons

Risom produced some very early works for Knoll and soon went off on his own with Jens Risom Designs afterward

The Krefeld series was designed by Mies Van Der Rohe in 1927 and was reintroduced by Knoll in the early 2000s
