DOMANI is building on the cooperation experience of the international doctoral school INTENSE (CBHE project completed in 2021) bringing together HEIs in Mongolia (MN) and Ukraine (UA) for strengthening their competences and competitiveness for doctoral training in the field of environment. Reflecting on the challenges of the day, such as growing environmental impacts, staggering manifestations of climate change and resource shortages, the aftermath of the global pandemics, and the war in the UA, DOMANI expands this scope and reaches broader audiences.
GENERAL OBJECTIVE – take stock of organizational, ICT and expert capacity of partner institutions in Mongolia and Ukraine, and develop flexible and inclusive learning opportunities by creating functional ecosystems for providing micro-credentials to students and life-long learners. DOMANI will contribute to the circular and green transformation of partner countries’ economies, as well as to war resilience and post-war recovery in Ukraine through the development and piloting of micro-credential courses addressing the relevant skill pools. DOMANI is specifically aiming at educating the agents of change equipped with competences needed to support the sustainability transition of their countries. DOMANI is committed to ensure access to education by disabled and disadvantaged groups by creating flexible learning trajectories and digital solutions, while supporting lifelong learning for all. The environmental emergency unfolding in the wake of the war in UA, as well as the harsh toll of climate change, mining and urbanization impacts in MN are at the core of piloted curricula. In UA it has particular focus on the provision of learning opportunities to migrants and displaced persons, as well as to climate refugees in MN.
Further to the recognition of similar needs in the establishment of flexible and inclusive learning paths, DOMANI is seeking to capitalize on the established collaboration links and to strengthen the capacity for the support to the UA academia by likely minded societies, such as MN experiencing heavy political pressure by China and Russia, its only bordering countries.
